April Partner Spotlight: Austin Bat Cave Ms. Miles’ second-grade class created monsters. First they folded their papers hot-dog style, and then they created, drew, and colored their creatures on one side of the page. On the other side, they named their monsters and then wrote acrostic poems to describe them. Each line of the poem starts with one of the letters of the name of their monster. UT Elementary’s second graders engage in such imaginative activities thanks to the school’s partnership with Austin Bat Cave, a nonprofit writing and tutoring center for kids. |
