UT Elementary Second Grade Performs Play about Black History

The second-grade class performed a play entitled “The Black History Living Museum,” in honor of Black History Month. The educational play featured our students playing such historical icons as Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Barack Obama, and many others. The students acted out this play several times, including in front of a parent audience, and different groups of students and friends of the school, and all were awed and inspired by the performance.

Vedia Miles and John Wright, the second-grade teachers who organized their students to create this event, said they are glad that their classes are helping the rest of our students, family, and friends understand and appreciate more about Black History Month.
