The University of Texas Elementary School provides an Exemplary education to its students by using researched best practices produced at the university. Not only that, but we take what we learn in the classroom and provide feedback to the university, as well as share our resources and training with the educational community. We do this directly by training, mentoring, and providing curriculum resources to partner schools, and indirectly through national conferences, educational blogs, and best practices books. The effects of our work span across central Texas and even the nation.
In order to provide this kind of Exemplary education and outreach from a charter school, which operates as a district. Seventy-six percent of the amount we spend per student is provided by average daily attendance funding from the state and Title I funding from the federal government. UT Austin provides about ten percent of our operating budget, and the remainder must be raised from dedicated, generous individuals, foundations and corporations who believe in and see the value in investing in our mission.
